My artistic practice looks into the dialectic between dreaming and reality, it examines the way in which imagination and experience intertwine to generate images that move away from the representation of reality.
My artistic practice looks into the dialectic between dreaming and reality, it examines the way in which imagination and experience intertwine to generate images that move away from the representation of reality.

The feeling of disconnection from our immediate reality that occurs during the moment of daydreaming, generates in us images or fantasies spontaneously and often without conscious control. As in a dream, the state of daydreaming expresses the desires of the one who experiences it.

Imagination, on the other hand, plays a fundamental role in the construction of knowledge of the tangible world as it allows us to devise new perspectives or theoretical frameworks to understand it. Imagination is, furthermore, the faculty through which we build our sensitive universe - one that can be externalized through the artistic practice.

Imagination builds bridges between our mind and the world so that, through it, we can position ourselves in a place of personal and unique enunciation. The artistic endeavor is, for me, an act of transmutation through which desire -characterized by absence- and the undefined, take shape to become something beautiful and significant.
